1. 소개 Introduction of KEF
2004년 발족된 교육기금은 이후 재영한인협회, 런던한국학교, 주영한국 대사관, 재외동포재단, 그리고 재영경제인연합을 주축으로 기금을 형성하고 재영한인동포사회를 대표하는 비영리공공단체로 활동하고 있습니다.
2010년 7월 5일 재영한인회관을 개관하여 한국인과 지역 사회가 문화 행사, 한국어 수업, 및 커뮤니티 모임을 위해 함께 모일 수 있는 공간과 프로그램을 제공하고 있습니다. 이에 더하여 영국 현지에 있는 22개 한글학교와 연계하여 차세대를 위한 멘토링 서비스와 장학금 지원 사업을 제공하여 한국 유산에 대한 깊은 이해를 증진하는데 기여하고 있습니다.
The Korean Education Foundation (KEF) was founded in 2004 with the support of Korean communities more specifically the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Korean Chamber of Commerce in the UK, the Korean Overseas Foundation, the Korean Residents Society and London Korean School. On July 5, 2010, the foundation opened the Korean Community Centre, providing spaces and programmes for both Korean and local communities to come together for cultural events, language classes, and community gatherings.
KEF focuses on educating the younger generation about Korean culture and language. The fund offers scholarships, mentorship services for students and parents, and support comprehensive educational programs, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of Korean heritage.
2. 연혁 History
교육기금(KEF)은 2004년 12월6일 박영수, 신우승, 오극동, 장민웅, 주낙균에 의해 설립되었습니다. 2005년 10월 1일 Charity Commission에 Korean Education Fund로 등록을 하였으며, 이후 2010년 4월 10일 한인종합회관 건물을 구입 같은 해 7월 5일 개관한 이래, 대사관 영사 업무, 한인회 등 교민 유관 단체 모임을 주최하는 장소로 사용되고 있습니다. 또한 차세대 한인들과 현지인들을 대상으로 하는 한국어 교육과 한국 문화 교육을 위한 장소로 주로 활용되고, 영국 내 22개의 한글학교와 긴밀히 협력하여 장학금과 멘토링 서비스 등을 지원하고 있습니다.
The Korean Education Foundation (KEF) was founded on 6th December in 2004 with five individuals, Park Young Soo, Shin Woo Seung, Oh Guek Dong, Jang Min Woong and Ju Nak Gyun. In 2005 October the first, it registered at the Charity Commission as Korean Education Fund. Since the purchase of the Korean Community Centre building on April 10, 2010, and its opening on July 5 of the same year, the centre has been used as a venue for consular services, meetings of related community organizations such as the Korean Residents Society, and primarily for Korean language and cultural education for the next generation of Koreans and local residents.

3. 구성원 Who we are
교육기금은 이사장과 당연직 이사들 (주영한국대사관 교육원장, 재영한국상공회의소(KOCHAM UK) 회장, 재영한인회 회장, 런던한국학교 교장) 그리고 그 외 이사들을 중심으로 운영되고 있습니다. 이외 영국 현지사회에서 활동하고 있는 각 분야의 전문가들이 이사로 참여하여, 헌신적으로 운영하고 있습니다.
The foundation is guided by a dedicated leadership team, including the Chairperson and four Ex-Officio Trustees: a director of the Korean Education Centre at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the President of KOCHAM UK, the President of the Korean Residents Society and the Head Teacher of London Korean School. Additionally, various experts participate as trustees, ensuring dedicated and committed operation.
4. 주요활동 What we do
교육기금은 다양한 커뮤니티 서비스를 통해 한국어와 한국 문화를 교육, 홍보하는 데 전념하고 있습니다.
우리의 주요 활동은 다음과 같습니다:
(1)한국 커뮤니티 센터 운영: 한국인과 지역 사회가 함께 모일 수 있는 공간과 프로그램을 제공합니다. 재영동포들의 다양한 문화 행사와 커뮤니티 모임을 주최하여 재영한인들의 소속감과 상호 이해를 증진시킵니다.
(2)장학 사업: 우리 교육 프로그램은 젊은 세대에게 한국 문화와 언어에 대한 깊은 이해를 심어주는 데 중점을 둡니다. 우리는 장학금, 학생과 부모를 위한 멘토링 서비스, 한국어와 문화 연구를 포괄하는 교육 프로그램 운영을 지원합니다.
The Korean Education Foundation (KEF) is dedicated to promoting Korean language and culture through supporting a variety of educational programs and to manage the Korean community centre to support various Korean communities.
(1) Community Centre: We provide spaces and programmes for both Korean and local communities to come together. Our centre hosts cultural events, language classes, and community gatherings, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual understanding.
(2) Education Fund: Our education program focuses on instilling a deep appreciation for Korean culture and language in the younger generation. We offer scholarships, mentorship services for students and parents, and support comprehensive educational programs that cover both Korean language and cultural studies.

Welcome to the website of the Korean Education Foundation (KEF).
Founded in 2005 with the support of the Korean community in the UK, the KEF operates the Korean Community Centre, a space where Koreans in the UK can connect and enjoy cultural experiences. Additionally, we have been supporting various educational programs and scholarship initiatives to help the next generation of Koreans grow into global citizens with a strong sense of pride and identity as Koreans.
Thanks to the support of Korean communities, the KEF has continued to grow and is now celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Korean Community Centre. To mark this milestone, we have redesigned our website and are delighted to present it to you. We hope this platform will serve as a space to share information about our activities and provide a channel for communication.
